I'm playing England on the grand campaign and and yesterday it just suddenly stopped loading! Whenever I try to load the loading screen gets as far as "reading scenario" and then just crashes. I can start a new game or load other saved games but this paticular one seems to be stuffed. I havn't used any cheats, the game version is 1.09 and I havn't tampered with any of the game files. The saved game files don't have any illegal characters either. Any suggestions? btw I looked in the save games folder and one of the files was 3.3mb, the other one was only 0. All my other saved games seem to be atleast 1kb could that be the problem?

Are you playing vanilla EU2 1.09, or have to every applied any of the mods? If the latter we probably can't help you.
You could try installing EU2 and 1.09 on another machine and see if it can read the problem file. If not, well, again I'm not sure what we can do for you. Perhaps some kind soul here can offer to analyse your problem save game file and see if there is any visible problem.

No mods. I dunno what anyone could do to "fix" the file either. Oh well

As you can see from the other active thread in this forum, it is indeed quite possible to fix a save game, if there's bogus info in there or something like that.
