I was playing as King of Jerusalem and I was in about 1140 AD. Anyway I saved it and then I got out of the game. Later when I tried to reload at the moment it loaded up it crashed. At first I thought it was nothing but then I tried two more times....one again with my save and once with the autosave....it crashed both times. I am guessing it has something to do with the Jerusalem kingdom but I just can't figure out why and how....

I am using the latest patch jun 3rd. No mods.

Nope I don't get nothing.....it shows the progress bar and just as it should load up and load up the game it crashes to windows. I don't understand as it was working normally and I saved it normally and all...

I have the save game stored if someone wants to check.
 
I use Notepad mostly, but afaik Wordpad should be good too. Both come with Windows, so you should have 'em. :)
 
I have an error that looks suspiciously like finellach's. I've opened up the offending save game in wordpad, searched for "U019" and have come up with squat. I can't seem to find anything that meets the criteria "tag = U", except for uppland, ulster, etc... any additional ideas? I can rar and upload the savegames if that's appropriate. I think the game is punishing me for having too much success...it seemed to happen after I liberated venice from the Fatamids and kept it for myself :)
 
Ok I did....all I got was some strange set of strange symbols. However I recongized the letters U and X....the rest are some strange squares....or something like that.

Finellach, you have probably opened your config file (.cfg extension) it is rather small in size (1K). You want to open your save game file (.eug extension) which should be noticeable larger (10 - 20 MB).

What the hell is that?!?! :eek:
 
Btw. I forgot to mention I also witnessed another strange bug. It seems when I was giving out the bishopric that I had dead people as an option to give them out titles. Also in some duchies, counties and kingdoms if I opened the 'send assassin' menu I also got dead people as option....sometimes including my own court. In fact once I had a dead man listed among my vassals(?!?!). I am not sure if it has something to with the U019 bug but it might.

Anyway....my whole game is ruined....this was one of the most interesting games I ever played and down it goes into the drain....
 
The dead bishop is a nice exploit: grant a bishopric to the dead bishop, F12-die him, and you have a new bishopric with a free new vassal!

Rince and repeat until your piety is high enough, or you want to stop creating bishoprics. Your dead bishop will remain in your court until the next save&load ^.^

Dude, don't sweat, I think this thread here will help you fix your savegame


U019 B ugfix Thread

If anyone has any thoughts on an error with the same characterstics, but no U019 in the savegame, let me know.
 
That's a very good link Rrp, thanks. I myself have only encountered (and fixed) it once, so I weren't able to remember how to fix it offhand. :eek:o
 
Ok I did all what the bugfix said, but now I get the error message. Some global data issue...or something like....I really can't believe it....I really had soe hard time creating and building all that with Seljuks basically on my back and now it's all ruined... :mad:
 
save game crashes after 1300

My savegames will not load after the year 1300. It orginal crashed while trying to save it the first time after the century change and will not load any more. crashes mid way through the loading screen. also it will not let me save any new games after 1300 but crashes back to the desk top when i try this. this has happened on two diffrent computers.
