My EUII game (says Ubi Soft Exclusive and Focus on the case, if that helps you determine which version it is) CONSTANTLY, INCESSANTLY crashes to desktop. It doesn't appear to matter whether I'm playing a specific saved game, or playing a game that hasn't yet been saved, or even whether I'm at the start new game menu - chances are that if I wait a little bit, it'll crash.
As if that wasn't enough, about 50% of the time, when I try to load/start a game everything will be frozen. Troops won't move, and neither will the clock. About the only way to get it out of this frozen state is to CTRL-ALT-Delete, at which point I get an "illegal" message and I get punted back to desktop no worse for the wear.
From looking at this forum, I've gathered that part of my problem might be that I need to rename the "avi" file to "avi_back." I've found the avi file, but when I try to rename it it says "Cannot rename avi: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use."
As you can probably gander, I'm not a computer whiz.
What do I do?
