After a long hiatus, the CEFP.exe was tied to a CK2 crash again. Why is that exe even in the game? It's been associated with every single crash of CK2. Here's a log from Event Viewer. There are 38 similar logs associated with CK2..and every single one of them is like the one below. Googling the problem shows it to be a persistent problem and the usual recommendation is to rename that .exe file or delete it or just kill the CEFP.exe processes in Task Manager.

Faulting application name: CEFProcess.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x58e5ec52
Faulting module name: CEFProcess.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x58e5ec52

It is essentially an instance of Chrome browser and it is used to show the EULA and other such content before the game itself starts.

It's been associated with every single crash of CK2.
Possibly for you, but that is not generally so.

You can by all means rename that file to stop it running, so eliminating it as a problem cause.

Have you allowed it through your antivirus app?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .
