I have CK2 2.4.5, all DLC up to Charlemagne; I don't recall which version of CKII+

I'm playing a game from the 1220 start. Thus, there are no living Chalcedonian characters.

I'm about 60 years into the game, and suddenly both Catholic and Orthodox characters, both adult and child, both rulers and courtiers, are becoming Chalcedonian.

I found that I still had a saved game with no living Chalcedonian characters. I loaded it and let it run to the end of the month, at which time I saw that characters had started flipping.

So, my question is, is this scripted under some circumstances (*) or is it some bug?

(*) I made as best an examination of the event scripts as I could, but nothing jumped out at me to indicate that it's scripted.

Had the same problem way back when. According to Rylock the problem was that the global flag that marked that Chalcedonian had split just disappeared, making the game think the split was not supposed to have happened and turning all characters Chalcedonian to correct this. I don't know if there's any way to reliably fix it without getting a later version of the mod.

If that's the issue, than IIRC it's a save corruption issue and there are most likely even more problems occurring, even if not noticed. It was something that was, and still can, happen even in vanilla CK2. Especially in ironman for example, which is why we advise strongly against playing in ironman.
