Changing Language

Hey everyone i am new to the forums and I have a question for you all..

I am currently studying abroad and I really wanted to buy this game and I did, after doing so i discover that the entire game is in Spanish!! without giving me a chance to choose language...so basically i am wondering if there is a way to go into the configuration settings or something and change it to english...?

Welcome to the forum.

Open the settings.txt and change : language=0

To make the game more stable, rename avi folder to avi.old

hey, thanks for the reply, but i am only able to find a settings.cfg file..and a folder named settings with pictures/button settings...any tips? thanks!

Settings.cfg is the correct one, open it with notepad.

what I see when i do this is

3 #LANGUAGE (0=english, 1 = french etc..)
1 #MUSIC (1 for on)
europa.valkyrienet.com

where there number 3 is, I replace it with a 0?

Alright..when I tried replacing the 3 with a 0, I am on my admin account but it is saying..."Cannot save this file" contact admin etc etc...

any suggestions? I'd really love to play this game in english haha

Rightclick on the hoi2 folder, select properties, select enable write access for all files and sub-folders.
