I think I could help, gathering some info on portuguese history, for some god events... ever heard of the Inquiriçoes, or the Assault of Lisbon?

No, but I would like to... I am sorry I haven't had time to do the events I wanted to do listed above. I have a bit of information collection side project so its keeping me busy. If someone wants to do them please feel free to do so. I am very interested in the religious and philosophic type events, so if you wish to make submit some events and can't make up your mind please take the secular ones first :)

1140
Castilla y León
Translation school of Toledo

After the conquest of Toledo (1085) by Alfonso VI of Castilla, the archbishop of Toledo created the school of translators, where jewish, muslim and christian scholars worked in the translation of many classical works from arabic or hebrew to latin. During the reign of Alfonso X of Castilla (1252-1277) the school increased its prestige and importance.

Effect: improved prestige and cultural level (??) for Castilla.

I will try to post some events for Castile and León and some others for the muslim lands.
- The Crusade for Barbastro (1065): The Pope calls for a crusade in Aragón against the muslim Zaragoza emirate, the cursades take Barbastro but then spend the following months looting the city, a year later the muslims counterattack and recover the city.
Effect: Crusade against Zaragoza, the territories gained by Aragón.
- Death of Fernando of Castile (1067): The king of Castilla and León dies. His kingdom is divided between his sons. Sancho "the strong" gets Castile, Alfonso gets León, García gets Galicia and his daugthers Urraca and Elvira get the towns of Zamora and Toro repectively.
Effect: The Kingdom of Castilla and León is split up in the kingdoms of Castilla, León and Galicia.
- Wars between the heirs of Fernando(1067-1075): After the death of Fernando his heirs warred among themselves until only one, Alfonso was left.
Effect: Casus Belli for the 3 kingdoms until only one is left.
- The Almoravid invasion (1086): After the taking of Toledo in 1085 the diferent muslim Taifa kingdoms called the Almoravid Empire (which comprised modern day Morocco, Algeria, Senegal and Mauritania) to their help. The almoravids came and stopped the christians, beating Alfonso at Zallaca (1086) but they conquered all the Taifa kingdoms and assimilated them into their empire.
Effect:All the muslim kingdoms of Spain merge into the Almoravid Empire (this should be done gradually).
- Breaking up of the Almoravids. The second Taifas (1140-1150): After 50 years of reign the andalusies (the spanish muslims) got fed up with the religious fanatism of the Almoravids and a series of risings ended their empire in Spain.
Effect: The Almoravids disappear and new muslim kingdoms emerge.
-The coming of the Almohads (1170-1180):The second taifas were short-lived and soon a new empire rose from the Sahara and entered Spain.
Effect: The Almohad empire absorbs all the surviving taifas (this should be instantasneous).
- The battle of the Navas de Tolosa (1212): The king of Castilla Alfonso VIII aided by the kings of Aragón Pedro II and Navarra Sancho VII defeats Muhammad Al-Nasir Calif of the Almohads. This catastrophic defeat heralds the end of Al-Andalus or muslim spain, in the space of 40 years all Al-Andalus except Granada is conquered by the Christians.
Effect: Make very easy the conquest of muslim states in Spain.
More later.

I wonder if this thread is still alive? Do you still need events for Spain?

Same here :)

I consider myself to be quite knowledgeable of the Iberian history of that era, but all my hands are full with the HoI beta and some RL thingies, but don't despair, I am sure any contribution will be taken into consideration :)

1131 - Change Capital - D. Afonso Henriques change the Capital from Guimarães to Coimbra. So he can be far from the Northen Nobles that easily change their support from Portugal to Leon.
And to be more near the Rural populations that always whated the autonomy from Leon.
In Coimbra he reorganize the admistration and he was near the center of the Frontier with the moors and from there he could lauch a ofencive to conquer Lisbon and Santarem.

October 1143 - Portugal!!! - In Zamora D. Afonso Henriques, The King of Leon and the Cardinal Guido of Vico, A peace treaty is signed which confered the independecy of Portugal. Portugal know must pay four ounce of gold per year to the Pope. Now Portugal only have one real enemy the Moors.

July 1147 - Conquest of Lisbon - D. Afonso Henriques with the help of the Templar knights conquer Lisbon. Lisbon was one of the more prosperous cities of Europe, the moors made the small city into one the more prosperous cities of Europe, A beautiful comercial city with impressive walls. In 1147 the portuguese army with the help ofthe crusades from Northen Europe D. Afonso Henriques laid siege only past four months the Cristian warriors enter the city, with the help of great war machine, Catapults and enourmes mobile Towers with more that 27 meters high.
I don't know who you gonna simulate the help of the crusaderes but... if Portugal conquer Lisbon Lisbon will be the Capital, Give Beira Interior to the Templares ( I don't know who you gonna simulate this )

1166 - The disaster of Badajoz - D. Afonso Henriques and Geraldo Sem-Pavor ( Geraldo without-fear ) conquered Badajoz the King Fernando II didn't like the overgrouing power of the Portuguese do he allied with the moors agaisnt D. Afonso Henriques. The armies of Dom Afonso Henriques and Geraldo Sem-Pavor lost the battle agaisnt the alied army and D. Afonso Henriques was imprision by the King of Leon and only by giving Badajoz to Leon, King was set free.
Give Badajoz to Leon / the King is killed and a Regency Rules.

1169 to 1185 - Co-ruler - The King nommenie his son was is co-ruler.
I don't know who you gonna simulate this ( maybe chage the stats of D. Afonso Henriques to the stats of D. Sancho I )

In the midle of the reign of Dom Sancho I Portugal should change Flag

1211 - First General Laws - In Coimbra the "Cortes", the nobel assembly that are assembel by the order of the King or they are assembel to coronate the King. In the Courtes the king supreme autority was recognised by the Portuguese Nobles. The final document was writen in Portuguese, this represent a big innovation.
If it was in the EUII +3 centralization, +1 innovation

1220 ( not really this date, the reforms were done all most since the begining of his reign until his dead ) - Cleric reforms - Afonso II whated to stop to grouing power of the cleric orderes, so he proibid the orderes to buy more land that they allready had. Of course the orderes in particular and the cleric in general didin't like his reforms so they allied with Dom Afonso's sister to knock down the King.
If it was in the EUII +2 innovation, -1 provincetax in Alentejo and beira interior, +2 revolt risk in all Portugal until december 1245

1223 - conter-reforms - D. Sancho II was only 13 when he was coronate King, he wasn't capable to prevent the counter-reforms by the nobles and the cleric, but some nobles that whanted to continue the reforms.
Conter-reform: -1 centralization, -1 innovation / reform: +1 centralization +1 innovation +1 revolt risk in all Portugal until december 1245

1227 - Anarchy - The conflicts caused by the reforms of the King Afonso II, that oposed the nobles and the cleric agaist the king, put Portugal into Anarchy
+2 revolt risk in Portugal until december 1245

December 1245 - Portuguese Civil War - Many portuguese bishops asked the pope to intervine agaist the reforms of the king Sancho II. In the papal bull, Ineter alia desiderabilia, the pope declare that Dom Sancho II wasn't capable to rule and he nominate the brother of the King D. Afonso of Bolonha. After promised in Paris with the presence of the portuguese cleric, that he'll gonna respect the fredoms of the church, he embarked to Lisbon and he arrived in Lisbon in December 1245
+5 revolt risk in Portugal until 1247

Begining of 1247 - And the winner is - The forces of the King won many victories in the begginig of the war, but in 1247 Dom Afonso de Bolonha start wining the war, so...
D. Sancho II abdicate and goes to Castilla: -2 centralization, -1 innovation, +2 Stability, -50 realtion with Castilla, +50 with Papal States, Sleep event 1248, Change Flag to the Flag in EUII / The Civil War continues: +7 Revolt Risk until January 1248, -2 Stability, +50 relation with Castilla. Sleep Leader D. Afonso III

January 1248 - And the winner is Afonso III - The King Sancho II died from illness in Lisbon ( He really died from illness but in Toledo ) the last loyal troops to the King gave up to the troops of D. Afonso de Bolonha now know as D. Afonso III the Bolonhês.
-2 centralization, -1 innovation, +2 Stability, -50 realtion with Castilla, +50 with Papal States, Sleep event 1248, Change Flag to the Flag in EUII

Probably you can make new effects for this events

I'd like some events about the Lara family since they played a very influencial role in Castilla, and often played aragon and france against castilla (one of the things that may help keep a "super-spain" from happening too easily. The family also sided with the muslims occasionally for convinience. I have some info, but not as much as some others i bet.

I post this event in the last year and now that the Beta is comming I would like to know if some of this events will be used in the Game??? I don't know if I'm asking to mutch information,.... But at least you can say if that is happening

Just my humble opinion but isn’t it to many rise piety events. It is just like make an even that increases vp in EU. When to gain piety is the goal of the game aren’t the goals unbalancing?

Well we don't know
With regards to the events, it a bit tricky. I have no idea about how the conflict between secular and religious authorities is going to be modelled. I hope that it will be built into the game itself rather handled as events, since it such a fundamental problem during the CK era.
However conflicts started by individuals, preferably not dependent on a particular ruler (since they are more dynamic than in EU2), are IMO best handled by events. Do you know what trigger the reforms and counter reforms?

These ones. Any idea of about the causes? In the 1220 there must have been some sort of escalation. I know that for example in the celibacy thing for the priests they started by forbidding children of bishops to become bishops. This meant that they could put in a celibacy requirement for priests, without much resistance because the priests couldn't pass on their seat to their children.
Obviously their must be a particular method that was used to gradually remove the rights for the church to buy land
