For my setup Victoria 3 runs miles better than Crusader Kings III (even if both games makes my PC suffer when they are in the background). I have huge performance drops on CK3 when unzooming which I never get on V3.
V3 also supports:
- Rebinding keys (essential as I have a French keyboard),
- Wayland with SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland %command%
Crusader Kings doesn't support any of those.
Aren't Cusader Kings's and V3's engine the same ?
Why such differences with a 2 year release gap ?
Is CK3's engine an older version ?
Will this be (partially at least) fixed for the All under Heaven DLC ?
I honestly hope so because I prefer CK3 but these issues are annoying and stopping me from really enjoying the game, especially the performance issues, V3 proves it is possible.
I'm on Fedora 42 but that shouldn't really matter as all the library used by this game are provided by Steam/the game directly.
Linux kernel 6.15.6-200.fc42.x86_64
