Got it, thats why I used "basically". It confused me, since I already played couple of grand campaings and after every conversion I was always more or less able to keep my position in the world. This is my first conversion where I became laughably weak in comparison with previous game.

For example with the force limit - isnt it calculated mostly from the province development? Since I have the highest in the game, I should have also one of the highest force limits, right? But for some reason I sit with 40 force limit somewhere in the bottom over there. Thats what confuses me for example.

I think that province count is more important than province development, and then ideas and buildings help.

As well as subjects, and marches especially.

I tried CK3 -> EU4 Converter, but It keep fails in 5% of converting, with saying that destination multibyte code page does not contain a mapping of Unicode characters. It does not have a any problem when i start a new save, but I desperatly want to convert this save. Do you guys know what's the problem and how to fix this?

Please, I desperately want to continue this game in Europa(I have spent almost 100 hours with my friend with this save)

You didn't upload log.txt. It's in the converter folder.

Oh, here is the one
There is a mod or something in your mod folder:

Converter can't parse its name since it's not ascii, and dies. Try uninstalling the mod temporarily.
If that's a system error (I really don't know) then it's basically saying the same thing - there's a mod that has non-ascii name in there.

Got a quick question, i'm using a mod called Renaissance kings 3, which basically makes a few things happen, like turks conquering Anatolia and establishing the Turkish culture, or Teutons conquering Prussia and establishing the Germanic Prussian Culture, however the converter doesn't recognize those and converts them to that of the holder, is there any way i can fix this?

Edit configurables/culture_map.txt and insert the new cultures wherever needed.

Might need some handholding, a bit of a dummy's guide on this one, i kinda messed it up.
It's a file with links like this one:

link = { eu4 = turkish ck3 = turkish ck3 = ottoman_turkish ck3 = anatolian_turkish tech = ottoman gfx = muslimgfx }

So add new turks inside:

link = { eu4 = turkish ck3 = turkish_euro ck3 = turkish ck3 = ottoman_turkish ck3 = anatolian_turkish tech = ottoman gfx = muslimgfx }

Rinse and repeat for all the cultures your mods added. Ditto for religions if needed in religion_map.txt.

If you mess it up, redownload the converter and overwrite old one.

I tried the convertor as a reformed hellenic pagan, but after conversion I noticed it set my religion as a custom dynamic religion instead of hellenic_pagan_reformed (which exists in the religion.txt files). Any idea why this is happening?

hellenic_pagan_reformed is probably a vestige from CK2. It's literally the same as hellenic_pagan. Once you reform it into a custom religion we proceed to process it as any other custom, player-reformed religion - by combining doctrines and traditions to produce something new.

Thanks, figured it out.

Yea, you are right, but I have probably the most provinces as well. Its just the beginning of the game, so there are no ideas or buildings yet. To demonstrate, the highest force limit in game has Malwa, with 121 provinces and force limit 96.

Well, and then there is me. I have 146 provinces, but the force limit is 40!

It doesnt make any sense. Can someone help me out with that? Or at least explain, where could be the problem? Isnt it really a bug afterall?

Not sure if this is answered somewhere before, can't seem to find it if it is: How does the Reformation work if Catholicism is replaced via the Decision for Christians to reunite the schism? Does the Reformation get pushed onto the new "Correct" faith or does it still target Catholicism even if there is no catholicism anymore? I ask because the Reformation is the trigger for one of the Ages.

If I were to guess, I'd say a majority of your country is unstated because having 146 provinces at game start will most definitely push your over your govcap limit. State some clay.
Also, number of province is meaningless if they are all manpower 1 provinces. Or if they are at 90% autonomy - you actually have 10% viable manpower.

That depends on the decision, who's performing it, what game, and so on. Not all "Mend schism" decisions are same - some replace everyone with orthodox, some do literally nothing other than giving you prestige etc.

A game without catholicism will be in the age of discovery for double the duration and then quickly skip to age of absolutism.

Great, thank you.

Are there any major downsides besides the development level of converting sooner than 1441? And regarding the latter, is having an overall low-development world a major issue for my EU4 playthrough? I ask because I'm in doubt about converting right now at 867 or waiting until 1441 to then convert.

Less dev means less money, troops etc. You can tweak dev output by editing configurables/dev_weights.txt.
Experiment and see what suits you.

Nevermind, just made a test file, and no problem: with a certain mod that instantly turns all counties to have 100 development, all countries have enough development to compete with each other on more or less equal grounds. So...fine for me.
