Hello, I was wondering how to help with combability issues for the fallen eagle ck3 mod to eu4.
I don't know what Fallen Eagle mod is. For simple mods that just add stuff like cultures or religions, editing appropriate mapping files in configurables/ folder is sufficient. For complete overhaul mods, if you're willing to update them on a regular basis for years to come, then you should probably start with province mappings - otherwise I'd rather not add support for something that will likely go obsolete.

It's pretty much ck3 but it starts way earlier during 361 ad. I would probably have to add a lot of cultures and religions especially since it doesn't have a good transition to year 867 yet. I am willing to update the mod for a long time until I'm too busy or something. Also how do I map provinces?

We have a provinceMapper that's used to map ck3 to eu4 map: https://github.com/ParadoxGameConverters/provinceMapper/releases/tag/0.10Y
However, because CK3 map is special, you need to "degrade" it first using mapDegrader: https://github.com/ParadoxGameConverters/MapDegrader/releases/tag/windows_development_build

Idea is to produce a special province.png map of CK3 where all baronies are fused into counties. This is what MapDegrader does.
Then this map is plugged into ProvinceMapper and you can map every CK3 country to EU4 province.

Before you start doing any of this, make sure the map isn't already fine - are there any new countries in FE mod? Is the map extended to China or the same as vanilla?
If there's nothing changed, there's no need to map anything.

Hey zemurin, I know that overhaul mods and the converter are not compatible but I was wondering if MEIOU and Taxes were compatible at all or if there was a CK3 to MEIOU EU4 converter somewhere.

No.

I have a question regarding CK3 DIverging cultures. Here is my example:
I am currently playing as the kingdom of Frisia, but imperator imported me as 'Old Saxon'. Now I could diverge from old saxon. If I name the culture Dutch for instance. Will this converter recognize that and convert it into dutch in EU4 or will it see it as a fake dutch culture created through renaming the diverging culture.

You would have fake dutch culture I'm afraid. To get to vanilla dutch, you'd need to spawn it somehow and convert to it in CK3,which is beyond the scope of help I can give you.

As is, since the vision is hardcoded per province, the only solution purely using the configuration files is to go to the culture mapping where Yughur maps to Oirat and switch their tech group from Chinese to Nomad.

Note that will sometimes be insufficient. These dynamic ideas are assigned by culture and the ones which are assigned by tag have precedence. If your tag is FRA, you'll get French ideas. Several ways to get around that, one is to delete or amend French ideas in the resulting mod, such that it is not assigned to whichever tags you want to have culture based ideas.

We're playing with the More Rules mod, and we've randomized all duchies and kingdom titles and destroyed all de-jure empire titles. So we'll have 0 titles tied to any EU4 tags. Unless some tags are tied to certain provinces, but that'll be a case by case scenario then. :)

Thanks again for advice!

ive converted my game but i cant find the text file for the HRE and i put the converter on define in i_am_hre but i cant find it and ive checked my other saves and its there at the bottom but not on this one
It's in the configurables folder. If it's not there, reinstall the converter.

i converted a game from ck3 to eu4 and there are a ton of no culture provinces and even countries with no culture as their primary. i also had a bug where some nations just switched tag for example bavaria became lobi. do you have any idea why that could be?

Since you didn't upload log.txt, I can only guess you had some map altering mod which is incompatible with the converter.

i think this is the correct file
i ran the save through the converter again because i used it again but i didnt change version of ck3 eu4 or converter in the time between the first conversion and this one iirc

There are zero errors here so having noculture provinces in eu4 shouldn't be possible. Upload you ck3 save please and tell me where those provinces are so I can see what's going on.

I loaded up that converted game into eu4 and I checked the culture but there were no noculture issues so I think it was either a one time error or an error in an older version of the converter. Sorry I don't have the log file of the broken conversion

I have a question about editing national ideas.

I have Norse-Sicilian kingdom that I want to play over into EU4 and the converter made some dynamic national ideas from the cultural traditions in CK3. I have been trying to edit those ideas but I am having issues with localization. I can change the actual values of the ideas with no issue (i.e. changing army tradition to galley combat ability), but I also want to edit the name and description of the idea for flavor.

I can't seem to find the file in the localization folder that would allow me to edit the generated ideas' description. Could you tell what/where I should be looking for that?
