Just a quick question; are colonies at less then 700 population supposed to rebel? Judging from the game info they shouldn't (wondering if this changed in any of the patches) but it has happened now a couple of times and i'm starting to get annoyed at my subjects for rejecting my benign rule.
so... is this a bug, or a feature?

:)
oh. I'll squash them, have no doubt, it's just kinda annoying to have your colonies drop from 100 to 28, and have a tiny rampaging rebel army cruising around the countryside. they have even tried laying siege to my larger cities of 10-15000 in garrison... would be a sight worth seeing though... :)

ok, I can accept this.
but why do they rebel when my other provinces have 0 in rebellion...
not in any wars, same religion as other non-rebelling provinces, no special events occurring at that time.
was thinking that maybe they want to declare themselves a new country, but that would be kind of stupid, no?
so i was wondering; do colonies start with the same 3% rebellion risk that newly conquered provinces have?
(and, no. there were no indigenous people in those colonies.)

I'd think all colonies should be able to rebel. Click on the info building in the colony and then click on the religion icon and it will tell you its chance to rebel. Adjust your religious tolerance or raise your stability.

Believe me, they can rebel. I don't know if it depends on the aggression levels of the natives (although you have wiped them out), or if it is a random event. One thing I am certain of is that when your stability drops or you wage war for too long, just about any province will rebel, whether colony or city. Also, when converting from different religions, I had a few rebellions in my colonies. They are super-small though, and should pose no problem. One thing hat could become a pain was if they burned down trade outposts, but I have never had that happen during any of my games.

Colonies can rebel just like any other city, under the same circumstances.

However, there can be a rounding thing here (ie revolt risk is 0,4% rounded to 0 but there is still a risk) ?
