Summertime is over...

Post #1 updated. Beta 13 available.

I notice this is included:

-fixed MOS_40081 and added two triggered events

Thanks. I've also reworked the similar events for Ryazan and Pskov (though the conditions for the Pskov event are somewhat different, as are dependent on the siutations as regards Novgorod) and they seem to work. Is the intention to add extra triggered events for these countries too for future official betas? Thanks

Yes. Don't hesitate to post the reworked events in devoted regional thread.

I still have a problem with this proposal in my tests:
Trade Goods changed to wool for Everglades by GeneralSnoopy, here (to be tested).
It doesn't prevent Spain from colonizing but colonization is very late, even after Argentina.
Fish is not the "right" choice but colonization of Florida was more "realistic" with this value.

Not sure what to do... Do you have same result?

Everglades never had any substantial Spanish settlement during the game period. That all went to Seminole. So I'm not sure that there really is a game problem at all.

IIRC american history, [need to find book], Tampa florida was the place of the first white settlement in USA. Also prior to this , the natives of the south, that is tampa and going south , cultivated fish, while the rest of florida the natives cultivated maize.

maybe maize/corn/grain is the answer

Except that grain is worth the same as wool. Also, wiki actually seems to suggest that the peoples of the Everglades (natives) subsisted almost entirely on fishing (and hunting) which kinda makes sense as it seems like agriculture might have been tought in that region. :D

i never liked the high value of grain plus with its other bonus, some nations get too much advantage from it.

maybe lower grain value would be an idea

Regrettably, I've managed to destroy my PC - or at least one or more parts of it. I'm not sure yet, but I suspect the motherboard has blown. I'll find out when I pop home & (try to) fix it later in the week.

Anyway, could someone please email me a zipped version of the latest beta? I'm having to use University computers, and a lot of them - amazingly - don't have an archiver of any sort, and of course Windows' natural archiver won't open .RAR files.

So, if someone could do that, it'd be really helpful, and I can continue my work for the AGCEEP until I manage to fix my PC - if I can... :( :eek:o

Check your PMs. :)
Thanks. :)

You can remove the upload now, if you need the bandwidth.

Ordered a new motherboard this evening; I hope it's only the board that's gone (this one is better anyway, I can use my 4GB of DDR2 :D) - if not, I'll have to replace everything, which I can't afford to do. :eek:o
