Hello folks,

So, I've noticed that every Essosi province except realm capitals and a couple of special provinces (in Volantis) are precisely the same in terms of Holdings (one barony, one city, and one temple). Meanwhile, Westeros is fully fleshed-out in terms of Holdings. This is not a surprise or anything, and it's not as if I'm mad - I want to make it clear that I'm posting this pragmatically. However, I imagine the preferred future for the Essosi Holdings would be for them to each be tuned in some way to balance Essos as a continent; at the moment, its power is weak, relative to Westeros, since Westeros has more holdings, and each Essosi realm is less-defined because of it. Some provinces should have one or two Holdings, some should have four or five, etc.

So, my inquiry is this:

1) Is the fleshing-out of Holdings in Essos a high priority for AGOTmod?

2) If it is not, or even if it is, if fleshing out the Holdings for Essos is not a feature that will be imminently released, is there some way for me to do this work?

a) I'm not necessarily trying to join the Dev team or do any work for it, per se; I just want to play AGOTmod with an Essos that has properly fleshed-out Holdings as Westeros does. If there is a relatively easy way to do it, I would probably greatly enjoy balancing out the Holdings in each Essosi realm (including, if sensible, the Dothraki ones), and if it's as easy as sending some CK2 text files to the Dev team, I'd be happy to have that work passed along.

Again, I really just want an Essos with proper Province Holding balance, so, please advise, as I'm not experienced with modding that particular element of CK2!

Bam

ps. My god I never want to type "Holding" again.

Essos is certainly not weak compared to Westeros. The Essos basevalue buildings are several orders of magnitude bigger then any of the Westerosi ones. So for example a province in a Free City with 3 holdings at Essos level 3, will have a much larger garrison and fort level and be far stronger than a province in Westeros with 5 holdings at Westeros level 4 or 5.

It would be a little nice to have some more holdings or at least a custom Westeros building in the Stepstones. I usually conquer it in an effort to land my relatives, but there's really no other incentive than that.

As Toccs said Essos is in fact stronger than Westeros, you could take say Dorne vs Pentos and Pentos has much stronger basevalues but lesser holdings.

Interesting. Still, I find it very jarring that just about everything within Essos is relatively the same. So, I'd still like to add more holdings (with the emphasis on there being different numbers of holdings in each Essosi realm, instead of everything having exactly three except the capital/special provinces). I wonder how that can be dealt with without ruining the Westeros/Essos balance.

Edit: This is not to discount some significant and adequately :) interesting differences between such holdings as the various Pyramids in Slaver's Bay.
