Hi.

I would like to request that the coders take a look at the load scenario/savegame procedures and improve upon it so that a broken or not-wellformed savegame does not cause a computer freeze, which in many instances demands a hard-reboot, upon selection in the list. This crash/freeze occurs upon selecting the broken file, i.e. when refreshing the playable nation/duchy etc.

A very simple, not adequate though, improvement would be to check both the start and end of the save-file since the structure of a good file is known. Several layers of checks are probably needed.

Kind regards,
Fredrik

How about making saved games to to break instead:)

....which is what has been worked upon in the beta patches.

No no, I demand a random save-game bug. Otherwise I wouldn't get the chance to start a new game all the time :)

But on a serious side, it's not very professional to have a lockup/deadlock/crash for an extremely controlled and known environment such as a save-game file.

Yeah, but neither is having broken save-game files and as Johan has limited time I´d rather see him work on the underlying core problems instead of
"makeshift" fixes to go round them. I do hope they include that to their upcoming titles.

Agreed, but a simple "Check first 30 lines, check last 30 lines" would sort out alot of the crashed save-games.

(Scenario info at start, interface info at the end)
