Hello all,
At some random points during my CK2+ forays I get random crashes that freeze my entire computer and force me to restart. I have made changes to the ck2+ files, but it also happens when I run just vanilla ck2+. Does this happen to anyone else? And have they found a solution? (Also there seems to be no recurring action I do that causes it. It seems completely random).
Thanks,
~Shadow Spion

It's occurred in one of my games, as far as I can tell { which isn't very far} it might just be corrupt files? But then again not sure yet. I'm no expert in this field, also it seems to occur on a certain date within my game. Same as yours I assume? I can provide no real help on this subject I'm afraid, other than recommend you go to the Bug forum and describe your problem there. Good Luck!

What was the date that it kept happening for you. Mine is somewhere in the early 1100s, generally a decade or so after the first crusade.

1124 april 24th to be EXACT. {Dramatic Music}

Hmmm. I will have to check for me. Does it always crash whenever you get to that date or just when it does crash it is on that date?

I've reloaded several times to the point where I saved the day before it crashes. It may not be the same thing in your case obviously, for me before it use to run for a few years ( Like around 5-6 years) then crash. Now I can't get pass a single day. So ya I'm certain the date is involved somehow.

If you get a crash on a specific day, that's something I could investigate -- provided you have the correct checksum.

Alright, how do I know I got the correct checksum then?

Look at the Bug Reports thread, first page. Instructions on how to find your checksum are there.

It should match the reported checksum for the mod version you're using.

Ah, well after looking at that, I can say that I did change some files. Vanilla files to be exact, I changed through the settings to get rid of the trees and ocean, for a performance boost. If I changed it back to normal, will this resolve it?

If it doesn't, and you still get a crash on that specific day (while starting the game from the beginning with the right checksum, mind you), then I'll take a look at the save.

Alright, so I changed them back to what they are supposed to be and loaded up a file. Looks like it worked originally as it did pass the date after loading an autosave. Kind of stayed that way for a while until about the middle of 1125, then it crashed again. Nonetheless this is definitely an improvement. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to start another game to see if this problem continues (with the specific save file) with the more correct checksum though. I'll come back to this thread a little later to when I have the time though.

You should never ever modify vanilla files directly. You need to verify your game cache through steam to make sure nothing else is messed up. Potentially you could have to reinstall
