yes, but Genghis Khan, aka Peter Ebbesen, cheated. He used all cavalry armies, and fiddled with the inflation sliders. I mean, making your country rich off of the burning enemy provinces sounds like an exploit to me.

Then there's that "Conversion of the Mongols" Event, where they all become Muslim almost overnight. Sounds like a hack to me.

You sound like such tight asses. Here the developers are planning to add an EXTRA, and you go around bashing it, saying you don't want it in because YOU don't need it, and so that YOU can play the game a couple of days earlier. Tsk tsk, how ego-centric can you get? :)

Why even bother to debate this? Sergei said they had already much of the conversion work done, and that it wouldn't be a problem.

I find it intersting, i prob would use it once or twice (moreso if i were actually able to play the mongol hordes...wish they would have added Asia so i could've played Gheghis Khan :sniff: oh well, can't have everything can we).

No, my problem would be in converting perhaps some stuff that might be lingering around into EU2, not to mention totally new dynasties, completely different borders, etc.

It would be nice addition, but i won't hold my breath.

1920? Nah, all we need then is another Paradox game to span 1820-1936, and we can convert from CK to EU2 to new "Imperialism" game to HoI.

Woops. Wait. Then of course we'd need "Cold War" 1947-1990ish. And the fun could go on with CK2 (Carolingian Kings) & DA (Dark Ages). And then something to plug that gap we thought "Legion" would fill, and then, and then, and then...:p

I'd pay for that, actually. I'd lay down my money. I'd even forego cigars for a while to afford it.

I want the converter. I very often have several EU2 games going that I switch between. One day I feel like playing my Austrian game, another day, I'm the terrible Turk. Sometimes, when I'm in the mood for punishment, I fire up the Kleves game.

It would be similar with CK. Indeed, I could then have so many different games to play at once. One CK game could be the foundation of any number of EU2 games, and I could have multiple CK games eventually finished and ready to use as EU2 fodder.

The CK-EU2 could certainly work, but could you imagine the difficulty of making a game spanning between 1820-1936 in which you could carry over the save file to HoI?
"Come men, over the trenches for the glory of Justinian the VXI!"

I think you are right

VXI makes it a six

he probably meant XVI

These two games are absolutely different.

So?

The point isn't that playing one is merely a continuation of playing the other. In fact, the difference in the two games makes the continuation far more playable.

1066-1419 your purpose is not simple expansion, and the dynamics are very different from EU2.

1419-1819 your purpose becomes expansion, from the base you established earlier.

IMHO the difference between what your goals are earlier and later, and how you achieve them, makes the combo even more interesting.

Plus, in the end, the point is how you expanded some nobleman's tiny fiefdom in 1066 to a world power in 1819.

I love epic experiences, the more epic, the better. If there was a set of games to span the timespan that Civilization or Call to Power covers..... CK and EU2 will have to do for now. ;)
