Is it possible for 3 players to cooperatively play 1 power in this game (i.e play the single player game).
If not, do any of the Paradox strategy games allow it?

I dont mean teams vs the AI.

Many thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

Well you can load the game and have your 2 friends sitting next to you, but otherwise i don't know how it could be done.

You could ofcourse play England and have Ireland and Scotland as vassels, but that's not quite the same.

Maybe meant in a way that HoI2 goes by, for there you can AFAIK play Co-op in MP in one nation.

Sorry, I guess I could have explained it better.

We want to play a single power cooperatively against the A.I. (i.e. all
3 players control a single power)

In Hearts of Iron 2, it states on its website that this mode of play is
possible:
"Co-operative multiplayer, enabling players to share the same country while playing"

Is it possible for Europa Universalis 2?

Or any other paradox game apart for HOI2.

AFAIK it is only HoI2 who has that feature, so far.

Aladar,

Tell me about the vassal scenario you mentioned.
Is it possible to use it to set up a team game so that the combined team can take on the A.I and achieve a campaign victory as a team?

Well you could, but the 2 vassels loose some tax to the overlord.

You could play 3 different contries and instead be in alliance. That would achive the same thing, but nobody would loose any taxes here.

This sounds very promising - by what you say the game supports "alliance win conditions", i.e. an alliance can be formed to achieve objectives without eventally having to attack one another.

Thanks very much for all the replies - much appreciated.

There are no real victory conditions in this game so no, an alliance cannot win an "allied victory".

However, given that there are no victory conditions, you could set them for yourselves and try to reach them together without fighting eachother.
