Corrupt Install Files (Please Read)

I downloaded 1.06, but it "couldn't find EU2" or something. Then, I decided to reinstall the game, but corrupt install files. I have installed it a thousand times before with no problem. Will I ever get to play again?? :(

Err....What publisher version do you have? Is there any chance that you d/l the wrong patch? Sounds like a distinct possibility.

If that isn't it, have you made any changes to your system since upgrading to 1.05 (new hardware...change of CD-Rom drive letter allocation...etc.)

Note: I've changed your thread title too...I've unofficially reserved the "please read" thread inclusion in this forum for universally helpful threads for other people. I do read every thread here as soon as I possibly can and will respond with priority to any thread where I was not the last poster.

Good news! The download worked fine after the install. Also, words of wisdom for anyone else having the same problem: try installing directly into "Program Files" or whatever instead of the Strategy First Folder. Thats what I did, and it works. (Don't know if that had anything to do with it though, but could'nt hurt :p)

Strange. Glad you're up and running but it should actually detect your game location whereever it was. I'm wondering if the heavy server traffic was introducing some corruptions in the dowloads there for a day or two. ANyway....enjoy. :)

LOL! If you say so. :p

The SF patch chooses the install path directly from the windows registry without prompting, so if you have moved things around, it won't find them.... Until you use regedit.exe, that is.

Most annoying when you have several separate installs and want to specify which you want affected. (I was up to five yesterday :D)

Ah...of course. Should have thought of that likelihood.

Yep. As long as you're up and running then it's as you like it (to continue the Shakespeare quotations :p)
