I had thought that this might be a common problem, so I looked for it - but alas, I found no similar thread.

Here it goes:

Victoria:
All versions, currently using version 1.03b with unlimited time patch.

System:
Using Win2000
AMD ATHLON XP 2800+
1024mb ram

Programs running in the back:
NORTON full package.
At times winamp.

It would seem that quite often, Victoria creates corrupt savefiles. So that you cannot load them. This did recently happend to me in my game as Oldenburg, where all savegames after 1840 are corrupt (including autosave) and will not load. Rather frustrating, escpecially when you save often to prevent this kind of thing.

I just found out what has happened. My disks had been filled with the crap of Norton Recycle Bin - and Vicky could not finish writing the savegames, thus rendering them useless. Could this perhaps be fixed so the player is notified if the disk is full, and Vicky cant complete an operation? Since it is dead-easy to go to desktop while vicky is still running it would then be easy to delete something. Just a thought... Anyhow - Now I will have to try to recreate my savegame. Hah. As if. :(
