Originally, I wanted to try the "When The World Stopped Making Sense" mod and it's add-ons, but for whatever reason it wasn't working through Steam Workshop. I then went to the mod's forum page and tried using their installer, but that didn't work either. I eventually decided to give up and just play vanilla as I usually do, but the mods would not go away. I unsubscribed from everything, reinstalled the game several times, and restarted steam. I've looked online and tried doing a clean reinstall by deleting any CK2 files and folders I could find, and I additionally deleted some files in the Steam Workshop folder. Other things I've tried are turning off/on cloud sync and checking the game's integrity. As of submitting this request, the game's mod tab in the launcher is grayed out, and the game will get stuck on "Generating Coat of Arms" for a moment before it closes.
My mod folders are empty and there are no CK2 files on my computer, according to a windows search.
Basically what I've done so far:
Unsubscribe from When the World Stopped Making Sense (WtWSMS). Run the [WtWSMS] Release 0.9.12.1 Installer and abort when the files fail to install.
Unsubscribe from all mods, mods still show up in Mods tab, but have no checkbox.
Verify integrity of game files, files will show as verified. Uninstall game, then reinstall.
Uninstall again and delete the CK2 folder in the Paradox Interactive document folder, then reinstall.
Uninstall again and delete the folders again, along with everything in Steam\steamapps\workshop.
Restart PC, reinstall the game, the game will start normally as if a first launch, but crashes on "Generating Coat of Arms"
I play the latest non-beta version of Crusader Kings 2 on Steam. I've scoured the internet for solutions, but I can't seem to find anything other than stuff I've already tried. Thanks for the help in advance!
