So I've been having this problem for a couple days now,
Basically whenever I attempt to play the game I get to the launcher and then click play then it instantly shows a blank icon down the bottom and never loads up, I've tried to load through steam, through the exe in the folder and through admin mode.
I've also tried running it windowed but no luck there.
Really not sure why it won't work atm as it did this a week or so ago but would run 1 in every 5 times now it just wont load up at all.

I haven't got any mods ticked and I've reinstalled the game twice, I've verified the game through steam about 10 times too.
So if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Edit- I've just read some people are saying it's the loading screen is invisible but I'm not sure as I have the music disabled.

This may be the issue caused to many of our games by the recent large Windows 10 updates.

Do check that your video driver is installed okay and up to date, as the Windows update messed up some people's video driver installations:

One further thing you could try is to edit the settings.txt files of each game, and set fullScreen=no and borderless=no , as some people have reported that helped.

If still no good, right-click on the game's .exe and select Properties, Compatibility, and tick "Disable Fullscreen Optimisations". Apply and exit.

And finally, in the same screen you can try setting Windows 8 Compatibility on. Or even Win XP SP3 compatibility.

Good luck!
