I just downloaded a mod that adds a bunch of new ship sizes. The problem is that it's not compatible with BB, so they all bunch up on top of one another. This is especially annoying with the Dreadnought and SuperCarrier hull sizes, which are so huge that they basically merge into one ship.

Does anyone know of a quick fix for this? Is there a value I can alter somewhere to force the ships to keep a reasonable distance between one another in my fleets?

Altering the ship behaviors would be your best bet, you can set ships to keep farther apart from each others. Biggest problem though is larger ships with short range weapons are terrible, and aggressive ship behavior will seek to be at point blank range. Vanilla weapon range are also quite short (BB does make them much longer), pretty bad for oversized ships.

You need :
  1. Longer range weapons (maybe double vanilla range, but that will change balance due to focus fire).
  2. Ship behavior with farther apart formation and some leeway for the return to formation.
  3. Ensure no ship behavior go for point blank range.
Shameless plug; you can try my FRB mod, the changes to weapon ranges and ship behaviors should make those large ships right at home. Haven't tested them though, probably will in the next few days to see how compatible my mod is with new ship classes mods.
