was looking through the game files, but i haven't found anything where the text for the religions are. i'd like to be able to create or replace the existing religion names w/ new ones, (i.e. zoroastrian [sp?] ) is it possible to do this?

The text for religion names is in config\text.csv

ok, i found catholic, orthodox, muslim, jewish in config, text file. so i added zoroastrian and then went to 1066 scenario provinve file and change province 496 (constantinople) to zoroastrian. game loaded fine but religion for 496 was pagan. what else would i need to change? thx for help btw rich.

You can't add a new religion tag, all you can do is rename one of the existing ones. Something like this (and I probably don't have the right number of semicolons):

JEWISH;Zoroastrian;;;;;;;;;;X

All references in game files would still have to use the existing tag, and countries with the new religion won't be playable unless the religion you replace is either catholic or orthodox.

ok, in the config, text file i replaced the line "ORTHODOX; Orthodox....." w/ ORTHODOX; Zoroastrian, and that did it! all provinces formerly orhodox religion are now zoroastrian. i want to keep orhodox in game and keep all christian countries orhodox and swap out catholic for zoroastrian to more acurately mod the time of heraclius around 600ad. thx again rich.
