Here is the info I read. Nowhere does it mention Chinese in medieval Europe.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crusader Kings reportedly takes Europa Universalis to another level, using the same engine, but expanding the game into the feudal kingdoms of medieval Europe in the time period of 1066-1419 A.D. The game map begins in Europe, stretching to the Urals in the East and including parts of Persia, the Arabian Peninsula, as well as the Coast of North Africa.

That exactly what I mean, why is a preoccupation with Europe, when other civilizations were definitely at least as powerful or even more advanced (China)?? Why not play as Mongols and try to recreate their huge Empire?

So we are looking at 2 games needing BETA testing at the same time... hehe... I can only hope to get a position for one of the two, plus Legion, plus my addiction to EU2... its gonna be a looooong summer :)

LJ, who is telling you that crusaders king will be out in summer, it will be announced ending the summer, auttum beta test and winter release just like EU2 did :D

The name Crusader Kings gives you a hint that the game will centre around the European crusades in the late middle ages. The chinese naturally never ventured on any crusades to the holy land. The mongols didn't either. But they played an important part in the medieval history of eastern Europe and the middle East. So the Mongols should be in the game to some extent.

I would like nothing more but I suppose the research cost is too high. Maybe they'll release "Crusader Kings II - Mongols Take it All". Japan would be interesting to play at the time...

If they made it like EU then everyone could conquer the world as the Mongols - kinda like making a game where the Mexicans try to take the Alamo.:D

I really really hope that the map is not limited at all... Europe of course should be included, as should the entire middle east. But I'd really like to see the majority of Asia included, as well as a substantial part of Africa... simply because I always hated in games like mlords, you would be off on a nice little conquering spree, but then you'd end up right up against a black wall :(
Although these outer regions weren't historically important to the Crusades, they all had at least moderate influences on the time period, and could quite possibly become crucial in any alternate history that might arise...

Im looking forward to play as the Knight's Templars.

So long as Byzantium gets that nice purple, they can't go wrong.

That means that it is only a matter of time before Crusader Kings gets a General Forum of its own... :D :D :D

Damn youre good... you can predict the future :)
Now we can all start thinking about what might or mightnt be in the game. :)
Good luck, Paradox.

Will the Vikings be included as well? I unfortuantely don't know much about this period, but i am definately looking foward towards learning about it through the game LOL!

I would guess not as by 1066 they had pretty much played out their role.

Of course there will be Vikings. Harold Godwinson defeated Harold Hardrada (or whatever - I can't remember the spelling) of Norway(?) at the battle of Stamford bridge in 1066.

They might not be the vikings of your imagination, but vikings nontheless.
