CTD at Startup

Hey all,

I installed my copy of EU2 on my wifes PC for some LAN goodyness and have run into a bit of a problem - here's to hoping someone can help.

PC

Intel 2.0
512 Ram
Radeon ATI 8500 vid card w/ 64MB

Installation was as normal, added the patch, mirror installation to what is on my own PC.

After selection of the scenario and/or loading a save game, the "Load" sequence begins as normal. Then just as the Load Sequence ends, a Cold CTD.

I have uninstalled/installed about a dozen times at this point, and am now quite confused.

Any ideas?

This sort of belongs in the support forum, and the usual initial advice given there is to rename or delete the avi folder, so the intros don't play (they cause problems on many machines, particularly those running unpatched versions of XP).

Hi, I have the same problem, but though I renamed the AVI folder as you suggest, there's no change.
In another thread someone talked about Windows XP V4 and suggested to unistall it but I don't have it in my Add/Remove programs List; is there anyone who have a clue about this problem ?


Ok, I discovered that only in a certain scenario this CTD occurs (Napoleon's Ambition). .

Not a Windows problem, maybe file corrupted?
