Hello,

As the title suggests, I've not been able to play since the recent update as my game crashes to the desktop (no error message - the music stops, screen freezes, then quits to desktop) during the "Loading Graphics" section of start-up. I had a similar issue after buying Holy Fury but that was resolved after adding CK2 to the exceptions list of my Antivirus software, which is AVG. This is not working this time round.

I have tried the "delete flags" method but that has not worked either. Do you have any ideas what the problem may be, please?

Thanks in advance

You could try deleting the whole Documents/paradox/ck2/ folders (except any valued save games of course) and let the new game version recreate them.

IF that doesn't help, DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

Thanks for your reply. Still a case of CTD so I've attached those files.

Use Notepad to make a new text file called userdir.txt in the Steam CK2 folder where ck2game.exe is. In that file place a single dot, save and exit. This tells the game to write the user files right there instead of under Documents.

Hi good sir, I'd like to ask, what do you mean by attach them? Put them next to each other, then again in which folder? You might think that I am kidding, but I'm serious. I'm desperate here

You see how there are files attached here to posts #4 and #5 above? Just like that.

"Attaching a file" is made by uploading the files by using the "Upload a File" button at the bottom right of the edit box in which you write.
