I have played many hours of Paradox games and have had some random CTD's, nothing really too annoying but one thing I learned is that it is always a good idea to save before annexing someone.

Playing Japan with 1.3 and have just occupied New Zealands three VP-locations, I save my game and presses the "annex" button, CTD. I realod, glad I saved the game, and tries to annex again, same result...

I try two more times with the same result, the last time I waited for the game to run another day before trying but no luck.

Any suggestions are welcome. :)

It sounds like it's a very reproducable case you have found. Please follow the stickied instructions and submit your save game file for analysis. Thank you.

Guess I'll have to do just that, tried again, but to no avail. :(

Edit: Not that I have ever zipped a file before but I'll try...

It's not that difficult, with WinZip installed. ;)

When I right-clicked on the savegame I got some option that sounded like it would zip the file(s) so I tried that and it seemed to work, I think. ;)

Okay, send it in I am sure it will be a help.

So, should I wait for some kind of answer or shall I continue playing without annexing NZ? And if I do can I expect the partisan activity to increase in NZ indefinitely?

Follow-up is in the hands of the Paradox staff.

As for your game. You could try to puppet instead of outright annexing.

Hey, that was a good idea, have to try that! :)

ok :)

Or you could just create Garrison troops with MP brigades to reduce partisan activity.......

Edit: After jpd's clarification there I feel a bit :eek:o

Just a marker by us mods, so the mod's name appears as last poster. Keeps us from opening all threads all the time. ;)

In short, it's a management "tool".

fp = Foot Print. ;)

As jpd says, it lets people know that the mod has seen the post.

Annex NS = CTD

I have exactly the same problem when I try to annex Nationalist Spain as Germany N/N 1936. I'm running a new game started with 1.3a (I have in fact a brand new installation). Tried all kinds of various methods (like changing to 16bit colordepth, renaming the avi folder and so on) without any luck.
I have sent a bugreport to Paradox with an attached zipped version of my saved game for analys.

We just have to wait and see what comes of that.

In the meanwhile I'll try to puppet them like someone here mentioned :p

I have the same Problem only with annexing the UK as Germany. I allready send a bug report with my savegame.
Since this post is allready one week old I want to ask if there are any news for a solution?

I have not heard any solution from anyone on this either... yet. I PM'd Herm (the thread starter) and he did not either. I tried emptying the event folder as I thought it could have something to do with an event kicking in when annexing. That did not help either. The thing is, it's reproducible there for making be belive it's something that can be found and fixed. The problem do not only apply to Germany, but Japan too.

Guys. No need to speculate about this. When you submitted a bug report wiuth associated save game to demonstrate the problem and instructions on how to reproduce, rest assured it's looked into. It's up to Paradox staff you you personally get a response.

Thank you.
