ctd while loading save

I get in the game ok, select the save & press start, get to the loading screen, the bar advances to about 98%, the game goes away with the sound of two swords clashing. The previous months' save file loads ok.

I'm guessing that it has something to do with me being involved in and winning a battle?? There are five files w/ current timestamps in the main game directory. Three of them are zero-byte files. The fourth is the config.eu file. The fifth is the history.txt file which has the following single line in it:

"November 13, 1420 : We won a battle against Gelre in Calais."

(I figured England make for a good learning game...)

Probly a well known issue & I'm displaying my ignorance for all. Wouldn't be the first time.

What patch are you using, which version (Strategy fFirst etc) and do you have any Mods loaded?

UD, Maybe you want to sticky this for a while it may save you some time.

Strat 1st, NA 105 patch. No mods. Game has been on the hard drive three days...
If this isn't a well known thang I can post a save if you like.

it seems like a corrupt savegame... I don't know what's causing it exactly, I never had it. Check the "running problems" thread, some suggestions could help you avoid it.

as for your game... if you load the previous month's save and keep playing with it, do you encounter any problem ?(keep it! don't overwrite it if it works! )
