Just to get me up to speed, what exactly happens when you try and install the patch. You can install it fine but when you try and play, it will crash to desktop?
If that is true at what point exactly does it crash?
Run EU2 Config program and turn the music off.
Also try and run the game at a different resolution, again set this in the EU2 config utility.
