The premises behind the mod is a species evolving in a way to develop differently on a biological level with 6 traits.

3 of these traits grant 3 trait points this being the following all increasing 15% growth rate but a negative to production per trait
metabolic = -10% food production
photosynthesic = -10% energy production
acidic = -10% material production

3 of these traits grant -3 trait points this being the following all reducing 15% growth rate but a positive to production per trait
ametabolic = +10% food production
respirationic = +10% energy production
alkalinic = +10% material production

So if you already took the trait Agrarian and ametabolic your population would produce +25% food for -15% growth rate.

Rapid breeder or slow breeders can not be taken if you take any of these traits.
Picking one of any of the negative production traits will restrict the other negative production traits.
Picking one of any of the positive production traits will restrict the other positive production traits.
Metabolic opposes Ametabolic
Photosynthesic opposes Respirationic
Acidic opposes Alkalinic

Now the thing you can do is sacrifice the growth changes by taking two opposing ones as a example.
Taking metabolic and respirationic you would lose the growth modifier but your race now produces +10% energy production but -10% food production effectively making them vampires.

If people are wondering why would say photosynthesic result in -10% energy production is because the race evolved by consuming sunlight so working in a place that uses energy they would invertible be consuming it also and as for respirationic they fear the sun so much they found ways to convert it more thus having a higher output.
