I start this thread to discuss the posibility of a Dark Ages (400-700) focused game, with tribe migrations and such. Any Paradox fan is invited to propose ideas and sign a request (¿maybe after HOIIV is finished?).

A such game is likely to happen.

(¿maybe after HOIIV is finished?).

But, I must just ask you, why are you doing those spanish "?" up-and-down? Not that it disturbs me or anything, just curious if it is for readibility or just because you are used to spanish.

I don't know if it's very likely, but I surely would like it to happen. Of course, with the recent turn to determinism I fear it would develop into "Migrate Tribes in Specific Spots Simulator", but maybe not. We'll see.

Spanish is my first language, i didn't noticed when i wrote it.

There's a problem doing a game in that era. I THINK at one point Johan said he didn't intend to make a modern era game or a dark ages game (I'm sure about the modern era, but I don't remember if I could provide a source for the latter).

Thay can solve it the way they solve it on ck2 or they just could not use portraits at all and just use names.

Utterly ridiculous that they feel the need to dance around Muhammad's existence for fear of offending a group of people who make up a tiny segment of their fans.

Just because Muslims make up a small percentage of fans does not mean that all Muslims would ignore the game. Why create contrevesry when there is no need for any?

There wont be any controversy nor problem, some few players will cry and that is it, if the world's media decided to make a big fuss about it due some political agenda then problem may occur to paradox, but that is very unlikely.
Mohammed and his companions shall be portrayed, Sweden also give a freedom of expression right? portraying a historic/ religious figure in elegant way shall cause no big issue.

Or he is just like in CK2 and how we are doing it/developing it in WtWSMS, a calligraphic portrait.

Doubt Paradox will go for this. CK2 already goes to 700s, going to 600s is questionable as has been mentioned, and for late antiquity you already have the upcoming Attila: Total War which will fill that niche for some time. (And unlike its predecessor, Attila seems to be in a highly polished state for release as has been indicated by pre-release builds given for Youtubers to explore).

I was hoping they would make a game about the Dark Ages, but when they announced Charlemagne DLC for CK2 my hopes were crushed.
Charlemagne is set in the late 700's, so it's still outside the time frame of the Dark Ages (or rather, at the very end of it). A game focusing more on resettlement and conquering by Germanic tribes, as well as the Moorish invasion of Iberia, would have to be set from the late 400's to ca 800. Also, the character focused concept of CKII wouldn't really go well with such a game. So in case Paradox won't make a game about the Dark Ages, it won't be because of the Charlemagne DLC.

Historical accuracy. Integrity. The calligraphy portrait is a fine compromise. The traits would probably be an absolute cluster****, but I could still swallow it if they gave him all virtues (inaccurate as that may be). But they shouldn't ignore that part of history entirely.

The main problem for me is how to interact with him, what if I'm playing on Arabia and kill him early on for example? I think you can probably do some things to him if you mod CK2 right now, but in the main game that's another issue.

I like the caligraphy portrait, and I am not muslim; side not Muhammad should not have the title of Caliph which I find more wrong then anything else as it means successor to the prophet(aka muhammad)

This era is a fascinating era, and I do hope that there is a paradox game that can cover it.

While that's technically accurate, I'd think it would be a lot of trouble to make a special religious head and title for one man.

I've played Great Invansions once and i kinda liked it, i think that paradox can make a greater game though.

I was thinking about the game, and for the migrations stuff there could be an victoria-like mechanic with pops, or at least a multiple culture in a province system. That way you can simulate the people changing places.
