I re-installed my game for unimportant reasons. At the end I was notified a check for DirectX(R)-version would be conducted. Next I was informed that "this program was not designed for use with windowNT. I am using WindowsXP. And the game does not run that great. I get a periodic lag or stalling while I play, like the machine has the hiccups. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

I assume you have applied the 1.05 patch since? That should help performance if your original CD is 1.00. Apart from that memory is the main inhibitor, with XP I'd say you need at least 512mb for good performance.

to remove DirectX.
Then download and install DX 8.1 all over again.
of course, I'm assuming you have the latest patch, this should be your first step.
