1.05, I'm playing as the King of Sweden. Germany DoWs me, so I go after him, hoping to finally force him to relinquish his claim on the Swedish throne (which I assume he grabbed with obscene prestige or something). He has a lot more troops than me, so I just hope to capture his demense and force peace.
Problem: I capture Braunschweig, Praha, and Plzen. He starts to overwhelm me with superior numbers of troops. All of the sudden, the map flickers, and POOF! All of Germany's troops disappear, and all of the provinces that I've captured become un-captured. I'm still at war with Germany. I recapture Praha, and AI state captures Brauschweig, and I go capture Venezia as well. POOF! Same thing (Germany's troops and my captured provinces disappear), except this time Germany briefly became dark blue colored. This happened one more time (without Germany briefly changing color).
At that point I captured the remaining provinces that I had never taken in any of these alternate realities, and byzantined an end to the war.
Has anyone seen this before? What's up with this?
