Do I have to use the CD to play DD?

I read in the manual that I could start DD from start/programm/Paradox/DD... but I see no such option... I can just start the game using the CD.

I'm not sure if I'm playing from the CD, and that's why it take too long to start, of if there is something missing to play it from the HD...

I installed the game and the only shortcut that it creat was to desintall the game and another shortcut to this forum...

therefore I'm playing the game from the CD...

there should be an shortcut.

Open your HOI2 mainfolder with explorer. Rightclick on the HOI2.exe and select send to desktop. Now you can play without the cd.
