Every time I run CK2, it starts up with all my mods unchecked and all my DLC checked. My friend just told me his starts up remembering what was last used.

This is slightly irritating because I mostly use Mods, and I mostly do not use Aztecs. Does anyone else have this issue? Also, how can I resolve this? Have I just been lied to?

Mine certainly remembers the DLCs I have unchecked. I don't have any mods so I can't speak for that. Are you on 1.092?

No you havent been lied to.
But it depends on how the mods are delivered.

Basically the folder names of the mod should have no spaces, just like the link to it in the .mod file that is usually displayed as a media file.
So in case your mod doesnt stick, simply add lines between the words so that there won't be any spaces left.
So change folder name and the link in the mod file accordingly and it should stick.

So for example:

mod folder
Keyboard_Shortcuts

*.mod file
name = "Keyboard Shortcuts"
path = "mod/Keyboard_Shortcuts"

Thank you for that, though all my mods except for one had the syntax you suggested.

Although after changing it, nothing seems to have been fixed. I will activate all my mods, deactivate Sunset Invasion, start the game, etc. However, when I start my game up again, everything is reverted back to normal: all the mods are deactivated and all the dlc is activated.

The real cause is that some mods use a custom temp folder. So the checked mods get saved there.
Then, the launcher reads the vanilla settings file, and thus doesn't see anything checked.

A fix of sorts is simply overwriting the vanilla settings file with the mod's settings file. You'll get the same items checked then as the last time you launched that mod.

Interesting.
I didnt think of that.
I have my own general user directory anway and delete the user_dir lines for the mods that do so.
Though in my experience the mods without own user directories and with spaces in between words didn't stick as well.
Ah well.

Yeah, the spaces are a separate issue.
