Hello,

I just bought the retail EU version of DD and installed it and patched it. Every time I after I click on any nation and click start it shows the bar loading and then crashes to windows. After which, the task stops running. Any ideas?

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Run a Virus check and a Adware/Spybot checker
6) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-4.

Ok, did all those. The DD scenario still crashes everytime. However, the 1939 and 1936 campaign seem to load properly. Is this a bug?

Maybe try wiping the game from your system, including any installs of regular HOI2 you may have had or the demo version.
Then reinstall apply the DD1.1 patch and follow the advice above, re:renaming the avi folder and stuff.

I got a similar problem.

Whenever I start the Hame, HoI2 or DD I get the same CTD after I select my nation and pres start. In my case it doesn't matterwhich scenario I choose.. It also happens when I try to play tutorial...

EU2 , CK and Vicki all run ok, I have this problem only with HoI series - HoI1 as well.....

I upgraded my graphics drivers and so on, no spyware, no viruses, etc, tried everything...

Anyon, ideas??

Best regards

Maciej

If none of the above helps then:
Please run a DirectX Diagnostic:
Start menu –Run - then type Dxdiag, then select each tab across the top of the window, and run the tests on each tab. Then select “Save All Information” button in the lower right of the window. This will bring up a dialog box to allow you to select a name for the file where the information will be saved. You can save it right on the desktop as this will make it easy to find. Then copy the contents of that file from the start to the heading that says “DirectX components” then paste what you have copied into a post in this thread.
