I to all the forum's users!
It could be a silly question but I didn't find any answer about this regarding Deus Vult: How to transform a republic into a reign? Or also how to play a republic without having the succession problem?
Thank you in advance for the eventual answers!

1. If you mean by 'reign' transforming a republic to a feudal realm, then that is not possible in the game. You need to edit the scenario-files to do that.

2. I never played a republic, but I think you can just change the inheritance-law.

If you want to play as a republic, look here on how to do that.

Playing a republic IMHO is very boring though, since you can't create titles and you can't create vassals.

And since there also is no trade or special rules/events for republics in the game at all, there is no special reason to play as a republic.

Thank you very much for the info and the link, and sorry for the mistake I made posting in the general section.
I tried the method in the post and in fact no events occur (except the random ones) and, yes, it's a bit boring but I want to try it a bit.
:)

As long as you enjoy playing as a republic there is nothing wrong with playing a republic. Good luck with it ! :)

Slightly OT I guess but this reminds me of the time I was playing an early version of the game and I was just watching the message window, and it said "Kingdom of France has declared war on Republic of Germany." (I forgot how it happened but I can guess.) A classic CK moment. :D
