I have issues with EU 4 on my laptop. It crashes(freezes and wont continue) after a few months and the second time i boot the save it crashes almost directly. i wanted to add a picture but somehow it wont show up when i press attach files. ive contacted the support and they advice me to put it on the forum to get the developers involved. I have an AMD graphics card on the laptop and a GTX on a desktop and it runs fine on the desktop. Ive tried re-installing etc . any help or advice?

The game has a memory leak, it's not very big but it does begin to become a problem the later in the game it moves, it's both an ancient game engine issue and also a memory issue. If you have more then 16GB of RAM and a beefy CPU it's likely to not ever be a problem. But as you're playing on a laptop, the problem is you're hitting the system limitation here, the game is not friendly to limited specs. Even top end laptops will struggle with games like this one simply because of how much stress the CPU and RAM are put under.
Anything i can do to fix it? It used to run on an much older Laptop with even less specs. so anything i can do to fix it?
I've been supporting this game since release and I am not aware of this. Are you sure of this, have QA or the devs said so?
Note the OP says his problem happens on one computer and not another, but if their issue was caused by a memory leak it would happen on both.
Please do a full **clean** re-install:
- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/EU4 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add EU4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test
In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.
IF that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

The game is crashing in your AMD video driver:
so please install that.
THEN Right click on eu4.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.

Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode.

Performances has improved alot. Only 1 freeze in 14 years game play. where normally IF it crashes the save becomes unplayable this seems not to be the case any longer. there was still a freeze so im not sure yet if its completely fixed but it seems alot better. i will keep you updated.
seems like it froze again and now very quickly. no visual errors. the game just wont continue after it 'freezes' and if i then alt tab out i cant get it to show up again
That error log doe snot look good, I agree. Did you do the clean reinstall I described above? Then test with a new unmodded campaign , rather than any existing one - any different?
i did a complete re-install including the drivers. the game is going alot better then it used too. it still crashes on occassion but it takes alot longer. i can play about 4-5 (in game) years and then it freezes. i can move the mouse but the sound is gone and nothing responds.
When you alt-tab out, can you kill the game in Task manager, then run it up okay and continue? Or do you need to wait a while or reboot before it will run again?
i can kill it in task manager. then it might take about 10 seconds before i can start again
