I assume everyone has heard about the press release <www.europa-universalis.com/eu2.asp> on EU2 coming out for Xmas.

Assuming we'll all have Santa (or the Easter Bunny in the worst case) give us EU2, then maybe we should all try to identify a common goal of ICG 2.5 (including ICG+) as a logical end point some time in the fall/winter?

BTW, I hope Paradox ends up giving Hartman, Suverov, doomdark,, and some of the major contritors a free copy of EU for the beneift they have provided the community and Paradox itself!

I don't think that EU2 will be the end of IGC and of the scenario editing. As I understand it(and I might understand it wrong due to a hangover) EU2 will feature a scenario editor and event editor. This will not kill all the scenario developers but in fact it will ignite their imagination. Mark my words, there will be IGC there will be Byzantine Saga(I'll make sure of that:D) and both of them will be better. There will be many more scenarios and all of them are going to be better. As for myself, I will defenately stick around and work with the new community( Provided that they make me a moderator again ;) ) j/k

That EU2 announcement caught me by surprise!

I just read it and think it's great!! The Paradox folk sure seem to have read the wish-list carefully! God bless you Paradox!

Thanks for waking me up Kevin. :)

Now excuse me for my Naivete, but besides Joan of Arc, what is the significance of 1419?

Indeed, not a single game is perfect and lots of things will be tweaked... IGC won't die imho

As long as they get rid of New Spain, I guess everything is all right.
Wait, I guess they can keep that for EU2!:D

Not the End of ICG but the beginning

Sorry,

What I ment was that at some point the effort tha goes into ICG/ICG+ will be better spent doing it for EU2. Some common goal on the end state of ICG/ICG+ for EU1 might be worthwhile.

It's so they can write that EU2 is a game that spans over 400 years (401) :D It also doesn't end in 1815 but 1820.

Hey, cool, it does. And the empire of Trebizond. And the Despotate of the Morea. And.....

I'm looking forward to this!

Don't forget English Normandy-I wonder how they'll handle that?

I want BiB to

be a beta-tester for the new EU2.

Can you imagine if BiB got his hands on the beta copy? We would be getting RT reports of his games! Yes... cryptic of course, but frequent tidbits of info ala BiB-code!

A hypothetical BiB account while playing EU2:

I can't stand it no more, so's I send my 12k Burgundian pikemen into Nivernais to strap the Franks.
Drag nabbit! 6k men left and here comes sum pooft army from awtanowear! Shure beats my *ss when the AI do sommink and criminy they kilt my leader too! betcha dint no this wood be more phun if i could play Phlanders!

(shudder) This is going to be sweet. I can't believe that they actually made enough money to make a new one, and make it better. Given the idiotic state of a lot of the gaming market, it really surprises me. Hopefully it will be nice and polished and whatnot, etc, etc. AND, hopefully some people who contributed a LOT of work with the IGC and whatnot, Gen. S, Hartmann, Doomdark, etc, will get their due...

I agree! At least then we can be sure they'll put Holland in the right place on the map. :)

LOL

Well, in order for this not to be such a LOL spam message I figured I'd add sommink.
