Extreme lag after 50 years?

Hello
First of all, I love this mod. However, every time I start a new game, the first 50 years run by pretty fast, but then the game gets very laggy? Has anyone else experienced this?
I have the following specs on my pc:
Geforce GTX 760
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
8.00 GB RAM
Running Windows 8.1

It's an issue with CK2 itself; the next patch is supposed to be optimising the game and, to quote Groogy, 'a year passes in ten seconds on full speed.' Bear in mind CK2 isn't 64bit either.

Your actual computer spec has very little to do with it.

Will they make 64 bit CK2 available? So it isn't my specs that are bad?

No, it has long been an issue. A way to postpone it, is to raise the autosave from one to five years, or even ten years.
