Flags Events Problems

So far, I've noticed two. France's "Rhineland Crisis" event won't fire for a human player (though I've seen it fire for the AI), and the Italian events to help Austria don't fire either (somehow Austria chose to ask Italy for help, with a human Italy). Both of these events rely on flags to trigger them, but some of the flags they call I can't even find listed in the savegame. So how can I fix this? Is there anything I can do so these events will fire?

Hi,

It would be helpful to know exactly what nation you are playing and what flags seem to be missing. Plus the exact version. It is possible that there is a flaw in the coding. It's also possible that an event has been skipped by the engine. This ocurrs on some computers wen playing on speed settings above Fast. This is a HOI2 issue, but it effects CORE more than normal as we have a lot of events that depend on previos events properly firing.

The Austrian call for Italy flag is not there, nor is the second Italian guarantee event. Also, the Italian counterpart for the Austrian State Visit to Italy never fired, but I don't know why. Probably its flag was missing also.

I'm not sure if the flag that fires France's Rhineland Crisis event is there or not, but the event did not fire.

Hi,

Looking at the current 0.32 files I don't see a reason for the Rhineland problem. There are a pair of Flags required and both are set. I'll mention this to Baylox as these are his events.

As for AUS/ITA there have been some corrections to this based on the chain ending abruptly. So this may be fixed for 0.32 already. This is Baylox's work again.

Hmm... Yes, I just recently noticed that .32 is out and downloaded it. It seems to fix the Rhineland problem (though the Rhineland event fired in January? :wacko: )

Hi,

At one point the Rhineland Chain was based completely on the historical dates. I believe that Baylox has now adjusted it to dynamically reflect when GER actually moves troops into the Rhineland.

CORE .30.1

Both Rhineland and Austrian Call for Italian help has been rewritten for 0.3.2 and if I read your post correctly you're still on 0.3.1, right? Therefor this report isn't much to put to Mantis or comment on, unfortunately. The good thing is that both of these issues should be corrected in the latest version.
