"Flashing" Screen

Hi. I have an issue that applies to both HoI2 and HoI2 Doomsday (vanilla for both, with most recent patches applied). Very frequently my screen will briefly flash during the course of the game for no apparent reason. Reinstalling has been tried but to no avail. It is rather annoying, and I am not sure how to stop it. Any advice on how to stop this would be greatly appreciated. Below are my system specs:

WINXP
P4 3.6GHz
2GB RAM
NVIDIA GeFORCE 7800 GTX 256MB

For clarification: the flashing effect is a bit ahrd to describe. It's almost as though the screen goes blank and then reppears instantaneously to create a flashing style effect.

This is caused by another program running in the background.
The other program is stealing focus from the game.

Most likely culprit is Music match, which you may not even know you have running.

Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and look unde rthe process tab, look for anything that says MM.exe or mmdiag.exe something like that.
