Is it possible to "lock" a particular weapon into a specifc prefab on a 'Mech chassis.

Specifically, i'm making a TDR-5Sd, and i don't want to see the big barrel on the should mounting an SRM2 - i want to keep it mounted on the chest.

I'm thinking i could delete the first prefab from the chassisdef file, maybe?

Any thoughts?

The hardpointdatadef files are the ones you're looking for.

What you want to do is go to the right torso section and delete all the srm prefabs that end in mh1. I suggest making a copy of the default hardpoindatadef file and pointing the TDR-5Sd chasisdef to that so as to not affect the stock variants.

I did a similar thing when creating my Cyclops CP-10-N in order to get all the AC2's at the bottom and the LRM's in the shoulders as seen in this thread https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/show-us-your-mechs.1302256/

Related, is there a way to prevent a small laser from using the Stinger's gun arm hardpoint? I like to start with a Stinger and swap the MGs for SLs, but I always end up with the Gunslinger visuals of two medium handheld lasers instead of 1 medium and 2 small sidecars like I'm after.

I imagine it would use the same technique. Delete the hardpointdefs for the first energy slot, "eh1"

But that all depends on how the Stinger files are set-up in the first place. You might end up with machine guns that shoot laser beams, for example.

I think that would force both the small and the medium to use the small sidecar HP, which would break the Gunslinger variant with 2 handheld MLs
