Kongeriget Danmark
Message from His Majesty The King of Denmark

The recent events in Asia has been a step back for the future development of the continent and hurts not only the European nations with interests in Qing but also the citizens in all of the region. Denmark has been having interest of expanding our influence into Asia, however when such manor of barbarism is displayed where innocent people are cut down for the sake of selfish protectionism, the Danish government is forced to put any such ideas on hold until civilization reaches the court of Qing.

Kongeriget Danmark
Message from His Majesty The King of Denmark

The explorer Knud Johannes Vogelius Steenstrup returned back from Greenland recently to the mainland after one of his many tours to the colony. He has proven that the so called iron-rich "meteorites" blocks found by A.E. Nordenskiöld is in fact naturally occurring and in plenty amount. However it is not only iron that hides beneath the glaciers but many rare and valuable minerals waiting to be grabbed. As reward for his findings he is given the position of State Geologist.

With this new information at hand, me and the cabinet has agreed to place a big budget in exploiting this new found resource in the cold lands of Greenland, giving job opportunity and prosperity to not only the region but also for the craftsman on the mainland.

OOC: Funny thing, I am part of the Vogelius Steenstrup family. :D

Message from His Majesty The King of Denmark

The Kingdoms of Denmark and Sweden-Norway has for several years now been members of the Scandinavian Monetary Union which have given economical stability to all the three kingdoms since enacted and supported us as we've just begun our economical growth. I believe we can do better, I believe that the Scandinavian is worth more than what we are currently valued at, and want to propose to the Swedish Riksdag and King an offer to enter discussions of deepening this Union.

One of the biggest advantages of our Union has been of the free trade flourishing between our nations giving us a common market to work with. However right now as we are minting separate coins for each nation the commoners use an expression of "så godt som" when exchanging between the currencies without any legal backing behind it. We should mint a common gold coin to actually make this common practice that has become important for our now shared market.

This is only what I consider the first step to strengthen both nations economies.

I want to personally praise the Scandinavian competitors in the Olympics and congratulate the medal takers. I also want to give special praise to Ingmar Winter for giving such great performance despite his injury and I am sure he would have dominated his competition if not for that. However this is not why I felt this public message was necessary. During the Olyimpic games a scandal developed concerning the rivalry of Britain and Germany poisoning what is to be an occasion of unification and building of the international community. A similar circumstance happened between Hjalmar Mik Knudsen and Gustav Eriksson, however this never lead to childish bickering instead these two competitors acted commendably and as would be expected of them with the officials of the two nations following suit. I also want to emphasize that this show that the Scandinavian Kingdom's should continue to lead by example for the international community to the betterment of us all.

Mister Knudsen and Mister Eriksson will be awarded with the Kongelige Belønningsmedalje i Guld med Krone(Royal Medal of Recompense in Gold with Crown) at the Palace when they arrive home from Paris as a reward for their display of brotherhood.

In an unexpected turn of events, the Danish King performs something quite unorthodox in order to combat a growing trend in the Kingdom of Denmark and launches a campaign titles "Den Danske Ånd" or the Danish Spirit in English. He also invites journalists from the major national newspapers to an opportunity to interview him directly.

Tl: "Together with King Christian, shall we make Denmark great!
Take part in the Danish Spirit!"

This poster was the key of the campaign, being put up even in the remotest parts of the Kingdom

The King himself describes the "Danske Ånd" to Berlingske Tidende as what is the best of the Danish people and calls the others to join in. He often cited the great performance of the participants of the Olympics, competing in a sport with rivals but remaining humble no matter the result. In his view the Danish Spirit is defined by the hard-working people that got the nation back on track after the humiliating defeat resulting in the loss of Schleswig-Holstein. He's very keen to point out its the "little people" that makes the difference. So in short he sees the core of a Dane is to never give up, never back down, work hard for the good of all but most important of all, humility.

His Majesty continues to describe his goals to implement social reforms for the people, he strongly argues that the "little people", yet again, are the back bone of the nation and it is the governments purpose to take care of those nations. He sees right now that the nation of Denmark currently doesn't do enough but if we all "chip in" he sees Denmark without any limits.

Several political figures debates about this move as a way to flirt with the new Left parties that has been forming and getting strength. However His Majesty Christian continues to be strongly against parliamentarian and refuses to budge in that regard. Many of the newspapers readers however are quite happy to see a strong figure take a leading position now when the times are so unruly with the death of leaders and open declarations of war.

Amendments to The Treaty of Scandinavian Economical-Monetary Union

I believe these amendments are very much needed and puts our two governments on a direction of mutual policies in regards to each others citizens, bringing the populace of Scandinavia closer together and as well make it possible for families that has been split apart of our hundred years old conflicts able to reunite again. The Scandinavian Crowns have much history of disputes and warfare, the one most hurt by this has been the ordinary man. Now as we are progressing into a new century and with my promises of the "Danske Ånd", my sincere hopes are that all of that is behind us as such that the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish people can move forward together for a better tomorrow for the families and what seems to be the bright future for the children of Scandinavia.
