As I bought the game the first time, I could play it without a problem.
Then after I've uninstalled the game and install it some months later again. Anything looks fine, the game starts to the startmenu. But if I now try to start a game it crashs. It doesn't madder which game I try to start, it crashs all the time.

So I thought is could be a damage on the cd. So I bought again the HOI2 game and there are the same probs. It crashs, when I try to start a game. What could this be?

Yesterday I've uninstalled the game the way, which the FAQ said. Once again I installed it and it crashs the same way. My CD-Rom drive is also not the problem... I've tried it in 3 different drives and the problem is still the same.

PLEASE HELP ME!

Well I am supprised you would go buy another copy without first finding out what the problem was here. Just for future knowledge, crashing in game are unlikely to be caused by bad disks, that goes for any game. I am sorry you had to go through that, perhaps you can give the second copy to a friend.

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Run a Virus check and a Adware/Spybot checker
6) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-4.
