So, I've been trying to play Prison Architect again for the first time in almost five years, but now i can't start the damn thing. I get past the launcher into the game proper, then it just crashes during the initial loading.

I've tried verifying files, reinstalling the game, and deleting all files before reinstalling.

(Un)Funny thing is, game works in Safe Mode, as well as 32-bit version, it's only the 64-bit version that crashes.

This is the debug from the first run after a freshly installed copy, all files deleted.

Obvious thing to point at is the missing Uncompressor, that is only missing for the 64-bit version of the game. So how do i fix that?

I assume the uncompressor is, or should be, in Prison Architect64.exe . How it can not work for you I cannot imagine.

Anything unusual on this machine, security apps perhaps?

Do you have access to any other computer to try the game on?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

And please install and run the free utility Speccy. Send its output to a text file and attach that here, thanks.

I see Windows 7 here has not had any major updates applied since 2015. Our games are only ever tested against fully patched up Windows.

Please run the Updater app and apply whatever it finds; you'll need to reboot, run it again, and so on until it gets caught up.

Then please update the nVidia driver also:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
which I'm afraid means yet another reboot!

There are some other issues in there but let's see how those go first. Good luck with that!
