I'm playing as the Republic of Ireland and have managed to liberate most of Europe and Asia with the help of expeditionary forces from Canada, Sth Africa, France and Belgium. The ROI entered the war on March 17 1950. I saw that the USA was doing (almost) nothing (huge fleets guarding their coast, while Japanese fleets sink my transports, 20 Divisions protecting Chicago from a Japanese invasion, etc.). I asked for, and got military control of US forces in June 1959.
Now I find that on July 10 1959 (11am) the game freezes (so does my PC). I read Kellister's (uptherepublic!) reply to a previous query about numbers of Divisions being too much for the game to manage...
Should I return control to the US?
I'm afraid that they'll send the Marines back to defend the mainland while we have to all the fighting in China.
And in case you're wondering how in hell the ROI managed to get so far, well, I used the 'manpower' cheat in 1939. I'm also a firm believer in 'event 1012' and '1013' (My justification? The Irish diaspora returned home to protect the oul sod, we have spies everywhere- an Irish Pub in every city-, and the Celtic Tiger happened 50 years early!)
Any ideas gratefully accepted, as I'm getting reeeely frustrareh...
