Game freezing

After playing awhile, the game just freezes up. Nothing moves including mouse pointer. I have to power down to get out of game. I have tried uninstalling everything, it didn't help. This has happened before and after upgrading to Director Cut. It happens almost every time I play.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Does other games work ok? Are your gfx card drivers up to date?

I don't have any trouble with other games, and all drivers are up to date.
