I downloaded 1.07 today. Eachtime I start a game it goes for 10 or 11 months and then takes me straight to desktop.

There is no warning. Game discontinures and desktop shows. I have tried England and China both did the same thing.

How do I fix?

This might be a bug or a system thing. Let's try working on it from a system standpoint first and then move it over to the bug forum if it turns out to be a bug. ;)

First off, this may be residual binkplayer effects so step #1 is to rename your avi folder to avi_old. Depending on your version and whether you used the default installation, the folder should be at:

C:\.....\Europa Universalis 2\avi

rename this folder to

C:\.....\Europa Universalis 2\avi_old

Also make sure you've terminated any non-critical TSRs that might be running in the background (this will depend on OS).

Now try playing again and see if you experience the same problem. If you do, please post complete system details and we'll take it from there. (see the "READ FIRST" sticky at the top of this forum for the details we'll need).

Oops...could you also please let me know whether you've been applying any of the public beta patches to your previous installation. If so, please do a complete uninstall and reinstall to see if that corrects the problem and let me know if it does.

Thanks.

I turned off the Video Blink and it works fine. I forgot to turn that off for those two games and should have since the Video Blinks thing has never worked.

Thanks

Great!

Thanks for the feedback.

Enjoy. :)
