I'm having a problem. In the Grand Campaign mode, I'mplaying as portugal. I'm playing diplomatically, and I get relations with both Venice and the Hanseatic League up to 200, I'm in a military alliance with them, and I have a Royal Marriage. Now, why doesn't the offer vassilage selection become available?

This is really irking me too :(

Don't think u need the same religion. The same religion is often needed in the game to get a RM but I seem to recollect countries vassalising other religions (most notoriously with Orthodox Christians and after the Edict of Tolerance)

This of course depends on what you mean by religion.

I actually believe that the game only has 3 Christian, Moslem & Exotic.
Before the EoT however certain "religious factions" within Christianity dislike each other quit a bit and thus prevents RM etc. Orthodox is outside of this sqabble and thus is allowed to RM any of the other factions.

Muslim works the same beetween it's two factions, but I don't think the EoT helps the situation though =)

Well, it still stands that u don't need the same religion for vassalage as RMs between these 3 aren't possible.

Christian wise RMs between catholics and protestants aren't possible till the EoT and RMs are necessary IME and not the religion. Obviously the EoT only goes for catholics/protestants.
